The Telecommuter: I have been
using Sue's services for a number of years now. She's saved me an awful
lot of time and worry.
My business keeps me extremely busy, I really don't
have the time nor accounting know-how to run my accounts as I need to. If
Sue hadn't sorted my accounts out I would be in a real mess.
I asked Sue to not only run
my business accounts but also sort out my personal finances. She worked
out the budget for my household accounts over a year and ties in what
comes into the business with what needs to be paid out regularly. I send
her copies of my business bank statements, copies of invoices sent to
clients over the week, copies of invoices from my freelancers that need to
be paid and any other bills that need to be paid by the business. She
sends me back an email with a spreadsheet and clearly outlines what needs
to be paid from which account and to whom, including what needs to be paid
into my personal account to meet the bills due in for that week. She's
recently helped me register my business as a Limited Company, and again
without her experience I'd still be figuring out what I needed to do!
I'm great at running my own business but when it comes
to accounts I haven't got much of a clue. With Sue looking after my
accounts I know exactly how much to put by for my tax bill and when it
came time to settle my tax bill at the end of the year there were no nasty
surprises.
I cannot recommend her more highly. She's always been
extremely patient with me, taking the time to explain any of my queries so
that I can take care of bringing the business in and keeping my clients
and my team happy.
Sue - you've been a Godsend to me ... thank you so
much! (Dee Briston, Director, www.audiosec.co.uk)

The
small business owner:
When I was made redundant I decided to start up my own business
whilst I looked for another job and started a small computer repair
business which I ran from home for nearly a year before getting a suitable
full time job again.
Sue came onboard to help me with my tax
returns and also to sort out my tax code as she was sure I was due a
rebate after my redundancy.
She took away my books,
with copies of the invoices and receipts for things I'd bought when I
first set up the business and also my old wage slips and P45 and P61. Not
only did she sort out my paperwork so it made sense and did my self
assessment form for me but she also told me I was due a tax rebate. What
she'd figured should be owed to me was spot on and without her accounting
knowledge I wouldn't have known what I was due to get back or how to go
about claiming for it.
I'd recommend her to any start up business or small
business struggling with their paperwork. She made it all look very simple
but I know from experience it's not. (details kept private at request of

The
entrepreneur: Since
starting my own business in 1999, I have extolled the benefits of being
able to provide a seamless and effective service for my clients, without
the need to be in the same office as they are. It took me nearly
seven years to take my own advice and apply that logic for my own benefit,
in the form of using a remote book-keeper! Since starting to use Oak
Accounting four months ago, I have noticed a considerable, positive change
in my business – I have more time to manage my business, more time to
undertake work for my clients and more time to enjoy some leisure
activities as well! In addition to all these positives, I now have a
far greater understanding of the financial standing of my business, my VAT
returns are never late, and I worry less! Sue was immensely helpful
in setting up a system that would work for me, keeping it simple but
effective, and I would urge any small company or sole trader to speak to
Sue about their book-keeping, and see what a massive difference her
services can make to their business, and their life! (Helen Eade, Director,
